Job Summary
Senior Safety, Health, and Environmental Specialist to lead risk assessments (including job hazard, equipment, PPE, and ergonomic assessments), incident investigation, and development of SHE programs in a regulated medical device R&D environment. Responsibilities include partnering with the R&D department, driving compliance with federal/state/local regulations, managing incident follow-up, maintaining documentation and permits, coordinating meetings and training, and delivering data-driven SHE metrics and communications. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 8 years of dedicated SHE experience in regulated industries, with expertise in biosafety, bloodborne pathogens, chemical hygiene, and emergency response.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or related technical field
- minimum 8 years of dedicated professional SHE experience
- extensive experience in highly regulated and science-driven industries (medical device, clinical diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or R&D)
- expertise in executing SHE risk assessments and emergency response procedures
- ability to autonomously manage complex SHE projects, lead incident response and management, interpret regulatory and technical documents
- ability to develop and implement company-wide SHE programs in matrixed organizations
- strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
