Job Summary
Senior Safeguarding Officer responsible for designing, adapting, and implementing robust child safeguarding systems across the Rakhine region, ensuring compliance with global standards, and delivering safeguarding, fraud, and prevention activities. Role involves capacity building, monitoring, enforcement, and accountability, plus collaboration with the CO Safeguarding Focal, HR, Program Team, Field Operations, and Risk and Compliance teams across Rakhine and Country Office levels. Frequent travel (over 10 days/month) is expected. Reports to the Senior Support Coordinator; technical report to the National Safeguarding Lead; no budgetary approvals; Myanmar national only; location: Sittwe, Rakhine Area.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree, with at least 3 years’ experience in a related field.
- Strong experience in safeguarding and policy development, manuals, procedures and implementation on Child Safeguarding, Fraud, Anti-harassment, etc.
- Experience in conducting assessments, monitoring and evaluation, strong analysis and writing reports.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of the local context is required.
- Proficiency in the local language is required.
