Job Summary
Design, develop, maintain, and support applications on IBM i / AS400 environments using RPG, RPGLE, CL, and IBM i SQL. Contribute to initiatives including Synon2/E (COOL 2/E) components by analyzing requirements, developing solutions, and troubleshooting production issues to ensure application stability. Participate in the full software development lifecycle from analysis through post-production support, while collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver reliable client solutions. Provide guidance to junior developers and contribute to code reviews and technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in IBM i / AS400 application development
- Strong hands-on proficiency with RPG / RPGLE
- Experience with CL and IBM i SQL
- Working knowledge of Synon2/E (COOL 2/E)
- Experience supporting, maintaining, and enhancing client enterprise applications
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and support
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in production support environments
- Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders
- Ability to manage priorities across development, maintenance, and support activities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare industry
- Experience with RxClaim or other PBM adjudication systems
- Experience leading technical tasks, projects, or mentoring junior developers
- Exposure to modernization or integration initiatives involving client IBM i applications
- Familiarity with newer technologies or platforms such as Java, Python, Angular, AWS, Azure, or GCP
