Job Summary
Senior Robotics Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and refining automated drilling and pipe-handling systems for oil and gas operations. Responsibilities include providing mechanical engineering support, conceptualizing designs, performing stress analysis, producing layouts and drawings, conducting tolerance studies, researching and specifying components, designing test plans and fixtures, generating engineering reports, and researching robotic hardware/software technologies to enable new capabilities. The role involves engaging with vendors to develop robotic solutions, ensuring NOV standards are applied, and validating new equipment on customer sites, with a hybrid in-office/remote schedule in Houston, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in a related engineering field with practical experience in robotics and/or industrial automation
- 5 years of proven work experience in the development of machine and mechanical systems
- Proficient in CAD (Creo, Inventor, SolidWorks) and FEA tools (Ansys, SolidWorks Simulation)
- Ability to read P&ID, electrical/hydraulics schematics and translate into software environments
