Job Summary

Lead complex roadway design projects for FDOT and local agencies, developing standards, design alternatives, and complete project management plans that integrate engineering economics and risk analysis. Oversee technical, legal, and financial issues while recommending facilities, personnel, and funds to execute projects up to $150,000 annually. Supervise a major practice segment, implement staff development plans, and negotiate critical issues with technical and nontechnical audiences. Requires 16+ years of experience, a Professional Engineer license, and a Master's degree.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of Project Management on complex roadway design projects for FDOT and other local agencies throughout Florida
  • 16+ Years
  • B.S. or M.S. Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
  • reciprocity in multiple states
  • exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • negotiation of critical issues
  • Integrates different forms of effective and persuasive communication to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Demonstrates financial acumen
  • familiarity with legal issues related to engineering practice
  • Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials
  • Possesses the strategic skills to identify and develop a marketing strategy for winning specific project opportunities
  • Uses creativity, foresight, and mature judgment to anticipate and solve new problems
  • Sets priorities and reconciles directions from competing interests
  • Leads projects with complex features
  • Integrates engineering economics and risk analysis into the solutions of complex engineering problems
  • Integrates solutions to complex problems across specialty areas
  • Demonstrates leadership
  • Supervises a major practice segment or several teams
  • Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits
  • Implements staff development plans within their practice segment
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of leaders and teams
  • Possesses the ability to lead and coach others
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
