Job Summary
Senior Roadway Engineering Manager with hybrid work arrangement (three days onsite) based in Virginia. Responsible for leading roadway design projects for VDOT and municipal clients, coordinating with contractors and utilities, directing design teams, and ensuring compliance with AASHTO, VDOT, and local standards. Responsibilities include project design, task management, client contact, quality control, development of roadway construction documents (plans, profiles, typical sections, maintenance of traffic plans), cost estimating, preparing reports, attending public meetings, and coordinating with government agencies. Requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 6+ years of roadway design experience, and a VA PE is preferred; MicroStation ORD and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus. Competitive salary in the range of $125k–$175k with annual bonus potential and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in roadway design (preferably in Virginia)
- Professional Engineer’s license in VA is preferred (will consider other states with plan to obtain VA license within 6 months)
- MicroStation ORD experience; AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus
- familiarity with AASHTO, VDOT and regional design standards, practices and policies
