Job Summary
Senior Roadway Design Engineer leading transportation infrastructure projects in the Tampa Bay area. Serves as engineer of record on FDOT and municipal roadway design assignments, directing plan development from concept through submittal. Supervises and mentors junior staff, manages client communications, and ensures compliance with FDOT and AASHTO standards. Responsibilities include directing calculations and documentation, conducting field reviews, coordinating with FDOT, municipal clients, subconsultants, and internal teams, and supporting business development through proposals and client interviews. Requires a Florida PE license and five years of post-PE experience in roadway design; proficiency with MicroStation/ORD, and knowledge of FDOT/AASHTO standards.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license registered in the State of Florida (required)
- Minimum five years of post-PE-registration experience in roadway design and production
- Experience with MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for roadway plan development
- Working knowledge of FDOT Plans Preparation Manual, FDOT Design Manual, and AASHTO design standards
- Strong technical writing, oral communication, and client-facing coordination skills
