Job Summary
Prepare designs and specifications in accordance with Design Manual Roads Bridges (DMRB) using AutoCAD and Civil3D. Deliver work packages with scope to manage schemes and multi-disciplinary teams, while providing technical input to project briefs, proposals, and cost estimations. Be accountable for checking, certifying, and authorizing designs, documents, approvals, and reports. Manage graduate engineers and technicians to coordinate engineering resources and work collaboratively with National Highways and Local Authority clients. Mentor junior staff to help them develop professionally and progress towards professional qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent within a highway design role
- Working towards IEng or CEng status with a professional institute
- Highways design experience in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB)
- Experience of complying with Designers Duties under CDM

- Experience in delivery geometric designs using AutoDesk Civils 3D
- An extensive knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation, standards and procedures including the application of departures from standard
- NEC and/or Project Management experience
- A passion for design and developing innovative solutions
- To demonstrate initiative and ingenuity in solving engineering problems
