Job Summary
Develop and execute a global risk management strategy tailored to the Latam & MEA region, ensuring consistent application of methodologies and policies across all operations. Conduct risk self-assessments for business entities to support remediation and closure, while working with product teams to integrate risk insights into new launches and market changes. Monitor regional market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging factors to assess impacts and recommend mitigation strategies, overseeing the implementation of risk tools and systems. Collaborate with business units to design effective controls and action plans, providing timely risk reports to senior management and the board. Build relationships with regulators and industry peers to stay abreast of best practices, driving results internally while fostering a strong risk culture.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in the financial industry, ideally with first line and second line experience
- Proven track record of successfully leading risk management functions with strong business engagement, including developing and implementing regional risk frameworks, policies, and procedures and leading teams
- Extensive experience in at least one of these: operations, enterprise risk and/or regulatory risk management within the financial services industry
- Good understanding of risk management principles, risk systems, reporting tools, including policies and frameworks
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop practical solutions in a dynamic and multicultural environment
- Strong understanding of regional market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and geopolitical factors impacting the region, with the ability to assess and quantify risks across various business lines and geographies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management, regulators, and other stakeholders in the region
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable navigating the complexities of a subsidiary operation
- Demonstrates a strong ability to drive results internally with global teams, while fostering a culture of local ownership and initiative
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism, with a passion for promoting a strong risk culture and fostering collaboration across the organisation's operations
