Job Summary
Senior Risk Engineer at QBE Europe SA/NV (Germany) responsible for developing and delivering risk solutions across the European business, providing risk management and technical support to underwriters, conducting site surveys and desk-top reviews, producing technical risk management reports and recommendations in German and English, coordinating workflows with colleagues and third parties, ensuring quality checks on site surveys and underwriting reports, and contributing to the development of risk management practices through publications, presentations, and training. Role includes account engineering for key clients, planning travel to ensure timely and cost-effective RMS delivery, maintaining compliance with risk management policies, and mentoring internal Risk Engineers and external service providers. Requires strong knowledge in property insurance (and preferred liability), plus business development and client relationship skills, with German and English proficiency and a flexible, proactive work style. Flexible/hybrid working arrangements are indicated.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management and risk engineering with insurance risk management services
- Experience in property insurance; liability knowledge preferred
- Excellent German and English language skills
- Strong analytical, mentoring, and stakeholder-management abilities
- Knowledge of risk management reporting, RMS, and underwriting support
