Senior Risk Control Consultant - Missouri

Job Summary
Conduct risk assessments and surveys for the Commercial Underwriting Department, preparing detailed survey reports and providing expert risk control guidance to policyholders and agents. Identify loss exposures, analyze hazards and controls, and recommend strategies to reduce claim frequency and severity while partnering with stakeholders to develop customized safety and training programs. Perform accident investigations, industrial hygiene surveys including noise mapping, and assist in supervisory safety training sessions at policyholder locations. Maintain strong relationships with agency personnel and distribute safety literature, while traveling throughout the St. Louis, MO territory as needed. Requires a valid driver's license, a Bachelor's degree in Safety or Engineering, and ten years of risk control experience with a multi-line insurance company.
Required Qualifications
- Ten years experience in risk control with a multi-line insurance company
- A college degree from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Engineering, Science or other acceptable curriculum or equivalent
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record to operate a corporate vehicle
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Must display superior written and verbal communication skills when working with policy holders, prospects, agents, and company personnel
- Have strong PC skills
- Must have a good working knowledge of all applicable codes and standards
- Must be proficient in the handling of basic industrial hygiene monitoring equipment, specifically dosimeters
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities in the majority of the following areas: the ability to train other risk control consultants
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities in the majority of the following areas: the initiative to voluntarily present educational topics at department meetings
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities in the majority of the following areas: the aptitude and ability to contribute constructive suggestions and meaningful feedback to improve efficiency
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities in the majority of the following areas: the continual display of support for company decisions and directives
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities in the majority of the following areas: the meaningful participation in customer focus teams
- Be available to travel throughout the assigned territory as well as occasional travel to other territories as needed
Desired Qualifications
- CSP, ALCM, CFPS or similar professional designations
- Ability to work well with policyholders, prospects, agents, and company personnel
