Senior Risk Control Consultant Field

Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive risk assessment evaluations for high-complexity, multi-location businesses including manufacturing, large warehouses, and major fleet exposures. Maintain a consistent field presence of 20% to 50% onsite with customers, managing long-distance and multi-night travel as needed. Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business while building unified relationships with Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers. Write technically detailed reports articulating risk assessments and recommendations, then identify uncontrolled exposures to drive customer corrective actions and loss mitigation strategies. Subject matter expertise in areas such as Fleet, Sprinkler Contractor, or Industrial Hygiene supports broader team consults. This role reports to the Risk Control Field Director and does not manage others, focusing on delivering solutions through Travelers' extensive resource span.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences and related technical fields
- Advanced level knowledge of insurance industry and business acumen
- Recognized relevant certifications (such as ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS)
- Technical aptitude
- Detail oriented
- Superior communication skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with all others
- Experience working in a collaborative environment

- Influencing skills that effectively drive business needs
- Negotiating change to achieve optimal outcomes

- Seven years of experience in safety, risk control/management, or a related field, such as occupational/environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or relevant military experience
- Valid driver's license
- Must have or be able to attain appropriate certification to meet state-specific requirements, where applicable
