Job Summary
Manage local risk and compliance obligations by ensuring regulatory adherence, overseeing AUSTRAC reporting, and conducting ISO 27001 risk and compliance checks. Translate complex regulatory requirements into plain English for internal stakeholders while acting as a trusted adviser to partners and staff. Drive the risk and compliance strategy for the Sydney office through deep subject matter expertise in AML/CTF obligations. Internally educate stakeholders on firm standards and maintain the highest levels of regulatory compliance. This permanent role in Sydney requires 4–8 years of experience in risk, compliance, or legal environments, with Australian citizenship and security clearance eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- 4–8 years experience in a risk, compliance, or legal environment, preferably within a law firm or professional services sector
- Deep subject matter expertise in AML/CTF obligations, including practical experience with AUSTRAC reporting
- Proven ability to conduct and manage ISO 27001 risk and compliance checks
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into plain English for non-specialist internal stakeholders
- Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline Security Clearance

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, compliance, risk management, or a related discipline
