Senior Risk Accountant

Senior Risk Accountant role overseeing insurance and risk management accounting for a well-established company. Responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and timely reconciliation of insurance-related transactions. Supports enterprise risk initiatives and contributes to financial health of construction operations through detailed analysis, forecasting, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Key duties include developing and updating monthly accounting schedules for insurance and risk programs, preparing and posting monthly journal entries to the general ledger, producing and submitting reports to insurance carriers and administrators, reviewing insurance-related invoices for payment, preparing quarterly forecasts for contractual and insurance-related items, reconciling intercompany transactions and monthly statements for a third-party captive entity, serving as primary accounting contact for the captive administrator, preparing reconciliations and supporting documentation for external audits, supervising and mentoring accounting staff within the risk function, coordinating with risk management, finance, and project teams for alignment, and handling additional duties and special projects as assigned.
