Job Summary
Senior RFID Systems Engineer to define, implement, and simulate physical layer algorithms for RFID/wireless systems, identify and model RF, digital, and channel impairments in C++, simulate PHY and MAC performance, collaborate with engineers to specify system requirements, and devise test strategies while documenting algorithms for Software and RTL Designers. The role emphasizes developing and optimizing PHY layer algorithms, analyzing trade-offs between performance and implementation complexity, and contributing to the RFID system’s performance evaluations and ongoing improvement initiatives within Radar’s hardware-enabled SaaS platform. In the first 30/60/90 days, expect onboarding, learning Radar’s mission and RFID fundamentals, collecting performance data, and initiating performance improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in wireless communications and signal processing
- 5+ years of experience simulating end-to-end wireless systems under various RF conditions
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Strong root-cause analysis skills
- Ability to collaborate with people of different working styles
- Deadline- and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of RFID and sensor technologies and test procedures (preferred)
- Master's or PhD in wireless communications and signal processing (preferred)
