Job Summary
Senior Retirement Plan Administrator is the primary contact for an assigned book of plans, responsible for the A-Z annual administration of 401(k), Profit Sharing, Defined Benefit and Cash Balance Plans. Manage annual plan administrations for ~120-150 plans, perform eligibility, contributions testing, compliance, trust account reconciliation, and distributions calculations with recordkeepers and PenChecks. Prepare and file Form 5500s, plan amendments/restatements, terminations, and assist with IRS audits as needed; coordinate with Actuary for contributions and valuations; collaborate with clients, advisors, auditors, and recordkeepers.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in the retirement plan service area or related field
- Understanding of plan types: eligibility, vesting, contributions, distributions and participant loans
- Proficiency in ADP/ACP testing, Coverage testing, identifying highly compensated and key employees
- Experience with 401(a)(4) testing, 410(b) testing, Top Heavy testing and government reporting
- Familiarity with ERISA requirements, IRS and DOL regulations and fiduciary responsibilities
- Proficiency with recordkeeping platforms
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- Basic to intermediate understanding of Relius Administration, Government Forms, FT Williams system a plus
- AS PPA designations or equivalent a plus
