Job Summary
Senior Retirement Plan Administrator responsible for the A-Z annual administration of 401(k), Profit Sharing, Defined Benefit and Cash Balance Plans for an assigned book of 120-150 plans. Responsibilities include preparing and calculating eligibility, contributions, testing, reconciling trust accounts, distribution calculations with recordkeepers and PenChecks, preparing and filing Form 5500s, and coordinating with actuaries for contributions and valuations. Will handle plan amendments/restatements, terminations and IRS audits as workload demands, and collaborate with clients, advisors, auditors, and recordkeepers.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in the retirement plan service area or related field.
- Understanding of retirement plan types (401(k), Profit Sharing, Defined Benefit, Cash Balance) and related contributions, eligibility, vesting, distributions, and loans.
- Proficiency with ADP/ACP testing, Coverage testing, 401(a)(4) testing, 410(b) testing, highly compensated and key employee identification, and government reporting.
- Familiarity with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations and fiduciary responsibilities.
- Proficiency with recordkeeping platforms.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of Relius Administration, Government Forms, FT Williams system; ASPPA designations or equivalent a plus.
