Senior Retirement Analyst

Job Summary

Manage daily processing for qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, including 401(k) enrollments, rollovers, contributions, distributions, and loans. Perform defined benefit calculations, determine retirement eligibility, and establish accurate pension records for electronic check processing and tax reporting. Coordinate regulatory reporting such as Form 5500 filings, discrimination testing, and annual funding notices while completing accounting reconciliations and payroll approvals. Provide first-level technical support for retirement systems, conduct user acceptance testing for process changes, and counsel associates on benefits, health, and Social Security matters. Maintain compliance with federal and state laws and handle confidential information with discretion. Extended hours required during peak workloads.

Required Qualifications

  • College degree in Finance, Business, or related field
  • Other business or retirement related experience
  • Demonstrated experience completing multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis
  • Proven experience adapting and demonstrating flexibility associated with changes to policies/procedures
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated advanced level of employer-sponsored retirement plan knowledge in either Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution plan types
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to successfully interpret and communicate business needs to both internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated professional telephone and email communication skills
  • Ability to deliver and adverse response in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • Experience identifying and quantifying problems
  • Experience providing effective resolutions
  • Proven strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to cite examples of organization and time management methods used to manage or prioritize workload demands
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner

Desired Qualifications

  • Attainment of, or significant progress towards, the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or ASPPA QPA or QKA designation
