Job Summary
Assess, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary disorders, including advanced mechanical ventilation and airway management. Perform comprehensive respiratory care services across all age groups while ensuring VAP protocol compliance and operating specialty equipment like Nitric Oxide delivery systems. Complete billing paperwork, document assessments and interventions in the EMR, and coordinate daily staffing assignments to manage workflow distribution. Serve as the primary point of contact for interdisciplinary teams, making critical decisions regarding resource allocation and patient prioritization. Assist in developing competency assessments, conduct hands-on validation for staff, and orient new therapists with individualized learning plans. Participate in quality assurance initiatives, conduct chart audits, and collaborate on process improvement projects. Maintain equipment through assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting, while reporting safety incidents and adhering to all regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an AMA Respiratory Therapy Program
- Licensed by the Arizona Board of Respiratory Care Examiners
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS
- NRP
- 2 years of acute care experience
- Must be able to physically show up
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1 specialty credential ACCS, C\RPFT, NPS, Certified Asthma, Pulmonary Disease Educator Certification, or AHA Certified Instructor
Additional Requirements
- Employee must obtain NRP within 90 days from date of hire and/or providing care in special care nursery
