Job Summary
Conduct on-site and virtual quality assurance inspections for HVAC and weatherization projects, including home energy assessments using diagnostic tools like blower doors and duct blasters. Serve as a technical subject matter expert by answering HVAC and weatherization questions, reviewing scopes and bids, and educating contractors on program specifications. Schedule inspections directly with customers and manage a fluctuating weekly caseload of dispatched projects while tracking and reporting QA results using Microsoft Excel. De-escalate complex customer and contractor situations with a client-focused approach. This primarily field-based role involves four days on-site and one day for administrative work, supporting residential energy efficiency programs throughout Oregon and SW Washington.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in residential trades and/or energy efficiency programs
- direct hands-on experience inspecting HVAC and/or weatherization measures
- strong technical background in energy efficiency building science principles

- ability to act as a program technical expert
- ability to answer technical HVAC and weatherization questions

- ability to develop and implement QA protocols
- ability to serve as a technical subject matter expert for customers, contractors, and community based organizations
- ability to perform home energy assessments using diagnostic tools such as blower doors, duct blasters, and flow plates
- ability to apply strong building science and residential energy efficiency knowledge
- ability to track, analyze, and report QA results using Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
- ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail and documentation quality
- ability to manage and de-escalate complex customer and contractor situations
- ability to communicate with professionalism, clear communication, and a client focused approach
- ability to schedule inspections directly with customers
