Job Summary
Senior Residential Counselor on a full-time shift-based schedule leads and supports on-shift Residential Counselors, fosters a safe, respectful, and structured environment for youth in a non-secure detention residential program, mentors residents and staff, supports youth development and decision-making, engages youth in daily activities and routines, collaborates with supervisors to ensure compliance with OA regulations, and handles documentation, transportation, and crisis interventions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid NYS driver's license in good standing
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to physically intervene in crisis situations (TCI training provided), including lifting and moving up to 50lbs or more
- Ability to transport youth and complete required documentation
- Team-oriented, dependable, and responsive to feedback
