Job Summary
Manage and oversee construction projects involving bridges, structures, roadways, and transportation infrastructure, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and DOT requirements. Supervise project staff, inspectors, and consultants while organizing teams and providing daily on-site construction management and inspection oversight. Lead project meetings, coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, and analyze RFIs, work orders, and claims to support project delivery. Prepare independent cost estimates, negotiate payments, and manage project budgets, CPM schedules, and contractor performance. Review inspection reports and material testing results to resolve quality issues and ensure adherence to project standards.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years' experience as Resident Engineer on experience managing complex construction projects, including transportation, railway, station, bridge, roadway, facility, infrastructure, and/or water/wastewater projects
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering or closely related field
- DC, VA or MD Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Construction Management Association of America Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
- Experience with DDOT, VDOT and/or MSHA specifications, standards, manuals, construction inspection practices, materials testing, and related certifications preferred
