Job Summary

Senior Resident Assistant (College Student Position) is a live-in student staff member responsible for leading a team of Resident Assistants, overseeing daily operations, and supporting residents in The Towers. The role emphasizes community development, leadership and mentorship of RA staff, safety and security procedures, incident reporting, and administrative duties. Responsibilities include collaborating with RAs on initiatives, advising the Residence Hall Association, maintaining visibility, assisting with training and onboarding, enforcing community standards, handling incident reports, and participating in on-call rotations. Requires current full-time enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student with at least two years of RA experience; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse populations; confidentiality; and the ability to live on-site with 15 hours per week during the academic year (20 hours in summer) plus on-call duties. Compensation includes on-site housing valued at $21,000 and an hourly rate of $17.50, with eligibility considerations for financial aid. The position is non-benefits eligible and not a contract.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with at least two years of Resident Assistant (student position) or student staff residential life experience
  • Maintain full-time enrollment and “good standing” with an accredited institution of higher education
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Possess strong customer service skills
  • Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, staff, and faculty
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a residential setting
  • Must maintain office availability and be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m., during the Towers Office's operating hours; during the summer months, 20 hours per week
  • Ability to live on site and serve on-call rotation
  • Move and lift up to 35 pounds
  • Live-in position with on-site residency
