Job Summary
Senior Resident Assistant position based at The Towers, CCNY. Live-in student staff member responsible for leadership and support of a team of Resident Assistants, overseeing daily operations and administrative tasks, fostering a positive living environment, assisting residents, ensuring safety and well-being, advising and supporting the Residence Hall Association (RHA), coordinating training and mentorship, enforcing policies, handling incident reports and duty logs, coordinating with campus security and maintenance, managing move-in/move-out activities, and dedicating scheduled office hours plus on-call coverage. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, leadership experience in residential life, and ability to handle confidential information are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with at least two years of Resident Assistant (student position) or student staff residential life experience
- Maintain full-time enrollment and “good standing” with an accredited institution of higher education
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor a team effectively
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Possess strong customer service skills
- Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, staff, and faculty
- Reliable, responsible, and able to handle confidential information with discretion
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a residential setting
- Must maintain office availability and be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., during the Towers Office's operating hours. During the summer months of June, July, and August, this requirement increases to a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Ability to live on site and serve on-call rotation
- Ability to move and lift up to 35 pounds
