Job Summary
Senior Research Chemist to work with Research Scientists and R&D Managers to evaluate existing and new chemistries, processes, or applications related to Oxiteno products in a safe manner; perform independent lab projects focusing on directed experiments, using glassware reactors and Parr reactor techniques; conduct application-specific testing across areas such as agricultural, oilfield, paints/coatings, and personal care; maintain project status, documentation, and equipment; set up and execute laboratory work, run experiments, analyze samples, and ensure safety; collaborate with the R&D team to improve lab methods and support internal/external clients; maintain neat lab notebooks and support patent documentation.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Biochemistry, or Polymer Chemistry/Engineering
- BS in other science field plus 2+ years in research laboratory work, or Associate’s degree with 5+ years in research laboratory work
- 10+ years’ experience in R&D laboratory work (15+ years preferred)
- Surfactants knowledge preferred
- Experience with Parr Reactors preferred
- Experience with chromatography, spectroscopy, wet analysis, or other analytical techniques preferred
- Formulation experience in Agricultural, Home Care, or Coatings preferred
- Computer literacy with databases, word processing, and spreadsheets
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated presentation skills preferred
- English required; bilingual Portuguese or Spanish strongly preferred
