Job Summary
Senior Research Associate in Discovery Biology to design and execute in vivo studies and downstream assays (qPCR, ELISA, Western blot), manage mouse colonies, coordinate study logistics, and analyze data across multiple therapeutic areas. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate experiment records, mentoring entry-level staff, and contributing to the development of preclinical discovery programs while upholding safety and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Biological sciences or MA/MS in a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of research experience, with at least 3 years in industry
- Hands-on experience designing, executing, troubleshooting, and interpreting in vivo studies
- Solid understanding of IACUC regulations and animal welfare standards
- Experience managing and maintaining mouse colonies, including breeding coordination and study management
- Experience collecting blood and tissue samples from rodents and processing for RNA and protein analyses
- Independently design, perform, analyze, and troubleshoot bioanalytical assays (qPCR, ELISA, Western blot)
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex data to cross-functional and senior management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently with supervision as needed
- Proactive, flexible, and collaborative with strong problem-solving skills
- Understanding of project timelines and ability to coordinate work with stakeholders
- Willingness to learn new techniques and contribute to innovative research
