Job Summary
Develop cell-based assay development pipelines for neurological impairments, including cognitive dysfunction and dementia, utilizing expertise in primary neuronal tissue culture, stem cells, and progenitor cells. Conduct immunocytochemistry and microscopy analyses while managing medium-throughput screening assays, vector design, and conditional gene expression in mammalian systems. Operate FACS equipment and apply analytical software such as Prism to interpret data. Requires B.S. or M.S. in biology, cell biology, or neuroscience with at least five years of related research experience. Located in San Francisco with competitive base salary, bonus, equity, and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in biology, cell biology or neuroscience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in related research with clear progression and advanced responsibilities
- Expertise with immunocytochemistry and microscopy
- Expertise working with primary neuronal tissue culture and cell-based assay development
- Experience working with peripheral primary cells and stem cells as well as progenitor cells
- Experience with FACS
- Experience with cell-based medium-throughput screening assays, vector design and construction and conditional gene expression in mammalian systems
- Experience working with microscopy software and analytical packages such as Prism
