Job Summary
Coordinate engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and stakeholders while supporting the SPIRIT initiative's goal of strengthening child and maternal health through intergenerational traditions. Facilitate leadership, data sovereignty, and Cultural Authority Team meetings to ensure strong community accountability practices. Contribute to literature reviews, data-informed insights, and collaborative partnerships with community organisations within a multidisciplinary research environment. Provide high-level administrative support and assist in developing project materials. This role requires a genuine Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person with a bachelor's degree completed within the past three years, strong community engagement skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person
- Bachelor's degree awarded within the past three years
- Relevant degree in Social Science, Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, Allied Health, Community Services, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated skills in providing a high level of Aboriginal community engagement
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience working as a team member in a busy cross-cultural environment
- Working knowledge of university administrative systems, policies and procedures
- Ability to travel, including field work, interstate and international
- Right to work in Australia
- Criminal history checks clearance
- Blue Card checks clearance
