Job Summary
Coordinate engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and stakeholders while supporting the SPIRIT initiative's global program on child and maternal health. Provide high-level research and administrative support, including facilitating leadership, data sovereignty, and Cultural Authority Team meetings. Contribute to literature reviews, data-informed insights, and collaborative partnerships with community organisations to deliver culturally grounded research. Ensure strong community accountability practices across national and global activities. This fixed-term, full-time role at Long Pocket requires a genuine Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person with a recent bachelor's degree, offering up to two years of experience in Indigenous-led research.
Required Qualifications
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person
- Bachelor's degree awarded within the past three years
- Relevant degree in Social Science, Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, Allied Health, Community Services, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated skills in providing a high level of Aboriginal community engagement
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience working as a team member in a busy cross-cultural environment
- Working knowledge of university administrative systems, policies and procedures
- Ability to travel, including field work, interstate and international
- Ability to verify the right to work in Australia
- Pass criminal history checks
- Pass Blue Card checks
