Job Summary
Act as a technical liaison providing troubleshooting and support for new product, material, and design development projects. Align with engineering teams to ensure process development and qualification, while evaluating designs based on package or PCB cost-performance trade-offs. Participate in assessment, test, and design reviews to create unique concepts meeting internal and external needs. Present data on material, machine, or process impacts in various forums and mentor staff members on engineering concepts. Collaborate with vendors, colleges, or auditors as needed, and generate prioritized goals aligned with department objectives. Work on moderate-scope problems requiring analysis of multiple factors, potentially serving as a department expert in specific material areas.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in electrical engineering and product development of radio frequency (RF) printed circuit boards (PCB)
- 2 years of experience with electrical, radio frequency (RF), and printed circuit board (PCB) layouts, including placing isolation vias, impedance matching, and working with PCB vendors
- Applying fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of electrical engineering, component selection, RF transmission line, and component placement
- Working with customer requirements and supplier processes in combination with own process
- Working with simulation results of RF design to include return loss, isolation, and insertion loss to improve layouts
- Presenting data and designs both material (including writing project reports) and oral to technical and non-technical audiences in order to ensure understanding of departmental projects
- Using Excel for data collection and graphical presentation of data
- Following lab safety protocols and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
- 40 hours/week
