Senior Remediation Engineer

Job Summary

Manage challenging technical projects from investigation through construction, including planning, budgeting, schedule adherence, and profitability oversight. Lead junior staff and subcontractors while driving business development and client management for industrial, institutional, and governmental accounts. Develop work plans, evaluate data, write technical reports, and prepare proposals, letters, and specifications. Collaborate with clients and regulatory personnel in meetings, and conduct fieldwork such as environmental sampling, drilling oversight, and remediation system operations. Drive vehicles to client sites and offices as needed. This role supports Geosyntec's international engineering firm, ranked by ENR as a top environmental design provider, leveraging expertise in IEPA and USEPA regulations across the Midwest marketplace.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E.)
  • At least 8 years of direct environmental consulting experience preferably in the Midwest marketplace
  • Detailed understanding IEPA and USEPA regulations
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel

  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers
