Job Summary
Monitor regulatory developments in India, including Reserve Bank of India circulars and policies, and advise on their impact on Adyen's local and global operations. Operationalize complex regulatory requirements while managing routine filings, engagements, and reporting obligations with the RBI and other authorities. Provide pragmatic legal and regulatory advice to internal stakeholders and negotiate agreements with merchants and service providers to ensure compliant solutions align with commercial strategy. Analyze and summarize regulatory policies, guidelines, bills, and acts to shape Adyen's regulatory frameworks. Represent the team on cross-functional projects to frame regulatory strategy and assist in creating Global Function OKRs. This role requires a qualified lawyer in India with 10+ years of experience in RBI-regulated entities, based in Mumbai.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified as a lawyer in India
- Fully proficient in English
- At least 10+ years of post-qualification experience in regulatory or compliance teams of RBI-regulated entities or have extensively advised such entities
- Deep working knowledge of the payments, banking, and/or financial services industry, including acquiring and card networks
- Must already be or be willing to reside in Mumbai, India
