Job Summary
Senior Registered Nurse - Oncology/SACT delivering Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) safely and effectively in line with national guidance, local policies, and competency frameworks. Undertake comprehensive patient assessments, including pre-treatment review, toxicity assessment, and ongoing monitoring throughout treatment cycles. Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day guidance to junior nurses and support staff within the SACT service. Support induction, supervision, and competency assessment of nursing staff delivering SACT. Ensure compliance with SACT governance frameworks, including national chemotherapy standards, COSHH, and medicines management requirements. Participate in clinical audit, incident reporting, and investigation, contributing to shared learning and service improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration
- Level 6 or 7 qualification in the administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT)
- Significant post-registration experience in oncology nursing
- Proven experience delivering SACT independently and safely
- Strong understanding of oncology pathways, treatment regimens, and supportive care
