Job Summary
Senior Regional Safety Manager leads safety strategy and risk governance for a portfolio of fulfillment centers, partnering with regional directors and cross-functional teams to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with evolving operations including robotics and automation. Owns regional risk assessments, site-specific controls for regulated inventory (dangerous goods, batteries, food and beverage, cosmetics, print-on-demand), and oversees serious incident investigations and corrective actions. Develops regional safety training, guides staffing and workflow design for safe scaling, and maintains governance processes with executive reporting. Serves as regional SME for robotics safety, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and human-machine interaction controls. Monitors safety trends and regulatory developments, recommending investments and risk-reduction initiatives. Partners with third-party fulfillment networks to ensure consistent safety standards. Requires 50% travel. Preferred safety-related certifications are strongly preferred. Salary range: $118,396 – $157,862 plus discretionary bonus potential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science, Safety Engineering, Safety Management or related field
- 10+ years of progressive safety leadership experience in multi-site distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, automation, or logistics environments
- Demonstrated success leading safety management systems across geographically dispersed operations
- Experience supporting highly automated distribution, robotics, or advanced material handling environments
- Experience leading serious incident investigations with significant injury potential or regulatory exposure
- DOT compliance management and environmental compliance in stormwater, spill prevention, disposal of solid and hazardous waste
- Experience utilizing safety management systems, data analytics tools, incident management platforms, and operational reporting systems
