Job Summary
Senior Red Hat Linux Consultant with deep Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) expertise to support mission-critical, high-availability systems in a hybrid work setting. Responsibilities include installing/configuring and maintaining RHEL across development, testing, and production; performing OS upgrades, patching, and hardening per compliance standards; monitoring and troubleshooting across OS, application, and database layers; automating tasks with Ansible, Bash, or Python; configuring Red Hat Satellite and IdM; supporting backup/DR with Rubrik and Oracle DB; applying STIGs with security teams; supporting applications such as Oracle WebLogic/DB, Apache, Progress 4GL/OpenEdge, PeopleSoft, Elastic Search, Oracle OBI, CVS, and Mobius; maintaining documentation; participating in on-call rotations for 24/7 environments; managing NFS and Cron jobs; local presence required within commuting distance of Annapolis, MD.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Local to client site – hybrid role; commuting distance to facility
- 7–10 years of Linux System Administrator experience
- Demonstrated RHEL administration in enterprise environments
- Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification (must include valid cert number)
- Experience with Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems
- Experience administering vSphere-hosted RHEL servers
- Red Hat system performance tuning
- Load balancing, partitioning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery planning
- Application development environments
- Red Hat support and troubleshooting
- Supporting Electronic Imaging platforms
- RHCSA and RHCE preferred
- Ansible automation experience
- Docker/containerization
- 10+ years of IT experience in enterprise/government environments
- 15+ years in IT field
