Senior Recreation Specialist

Job Summary
Develop and supervise a wide variety of leisure-time activities for students, including arts and crafts, movies, and intramurals. Plan, organize, and carry out the department's total recreational services while maintaining discipline, cleanliness, and inventory control in assigned areas. Explain equipment usage, administer a diversified program, and chaperone off-center trips ensuring necessary funds are available. Assist in recruiting and directing volunteers, train student leaders, and submit monthly schedules, supply needs, and time sheets according to Center policy. Maintain a stocked first aid kit and recreational equipment. Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office, a valid Class B CDL with passenger endorsements, and a minimum of one year of experience working with youth.
Required Qualifications
- Must be available evenings and weekends
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel
- Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat
- High level of communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of recreation activities, games, sports, arts and crafts
- Minimum of one to two years related experience and/or training
- One-year related experience working with youth and young adults
- Associate of Arts Degree, preferably in a related field
- Valid State Driver's License
- Valid Commercial Driver's License Class B CDL with passenger endorsements
Desired Qualifications
- Lifeguard certificate preferred
