Senior Reclamation Specialist

Job Summary
Assess project requirements and develop work plans, schedules, cost estimates, and technical strategies for complex reclamation, remediation, and construction projects. Provide senior technical leadership, conduct technical reviews of reports and regulatory submissions, and provide professional sign-off of deliverables. Interpret site, regulatory, and environmental data to identify risks and recommend defensible solutions. Mentor staff in technical execution and project delivery while providing guidance to project teams, managers, clients, and regulators. Plan and oversee project execution including field programs and subcontractors. Participate in safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support proposal development, scope definition, and project risk assessment. Complete all work in accordance with MEMS values and industry best practices. This full-time role requires an 80/20 split between office and field work, with occasional evening, night, and travel shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Applicable Bachelor's degree or Diploma with emphasis on reclamation or soil science
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the execution and management of site assessments and reclamation, focusing on the oil and gas industry
- Eligibility for membership in a relevant professional organization
- Knowledge and experience with the 2010 Reclamation Criteria and Guidelines as well as the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Remediation Guidelines
- Knowledge and experience with the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation, BC Site Remediation and Reclamation Manual and BE Ecological Suitable Species Guideline, Schedule B – Site reclamation requirements, and BCER Certificate of Restoration program
- Knowledge of the reclamation certificate application process and a strong understanding of agricultural, forestry and oilfield practices
- Must be able to meet the requirements of site access as dictated by our clients, this may include pre-access drug, alcohol and fitness testing
- Possess a valid, non-GDL Class 5 Drivers license
- Experience driving, hauling a trailer and operating ATVs
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to work varying shifts, including the occasional evening and night
- Required to walk, stand, climb, bend forward, kneel down, crawl, reach and grasp, push and pull objects, lift and/or move up to 30 kg, sometimes over the shoulders, repetitive bending and lifting of items, along with repetitive arm movements
- Excellent safety attitude
