Job Summary
Senior Rates Officer responsible for the administration and maintenance of Council's rating system, including accurate rate modelling, levy preparation, and generation of annual and quarterly rate notices to ratepayers in compliance with the Local Government Act 1999 and Council policy. The role supports financial sustainability through robust reconciliations, debt collection, budgeting, reporting, and cross-training into the Accounts Receivable function, with duties spanning data integrity, processing of rates data, liaison with debt collection agencies, and contributing to continuous improvement of systems and service delivery. Essential duties include processing rates data, maintaining property and assessment records, administering rate notices, reconciling rates revenue and control accounts, managing ratepayer enquiries, and providing backup support for Accounts Receivable while acting as Revenue Accountant as required. The role requires collaboration with finance and customer experience teams, adherence to WHS requirements, and active participation in training and safety programs.

- Experience in a similar position or industry
