Job Summary
Join Hubstaff as a Senior Rails Full-Stack Developer, where you'll design and maintain services and features using Ruby on Rails, architect scalable systems, and integrate user-facing features. You will collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager and product team, tackle performance bottlenecks, and ensure code quality through reviews and automated testing. Ideal candidates have extensive experience in Rails applications, strong database skills, and modern frontend tech proficiency, including Hotwire and Tailwind.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional development experience
- 5+ years building and maintaining production Rails applications
- Strong database skills (PostgreSQL or MySQL)
- Experience with background job frameworks and async processing
- Proficiency in modern frontend development with Hotwire, Tailwind, and at least one major JavaScript framework (React, Vue, or similar)
- Experience working asynchronously in fully remote teams
- A history of multi-year tenure in recent roles
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) or search engines (Elasticsearch, Solr)
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP
- Performance tuning in high-traffic applications
- Strong eye for design consistency and component-driven development
