Job Summary
Senior Rail Vehicle Electrical Engineer to develop technical specifications and conceptual designs for rail vehicles and on-board systems; participate in design reviews with carbuilders and suppliers; review electrical/electro-mechanical designs; lead qualification efforts at supplier facilities and on trains including functional testing and EMI/EMC considerations; prepare test procedures for rail vehicles and on-board systems; hands-on engineering work with rail transit vehicles, investigations of malfunctions, and mentoring of junior engineers; travel required; PE registration desirable but not required. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in rail vehicle electrical systems design and maintenance
- Working knowledge of analog/digital circuit design, power engineering, networking/telecommunications, AC/DC motor theory, control systems, software development EMI/EMC
- Familiarity with APTA, FRA, IEEE, IEC/EN, NFPA and related standards
- Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and abroad
- PE registration is desirable but not required
