Job Summary
Senior Rail Strategic Planning Specialist for Pembina's Marketing Business Unit. Lead rail logistics SME activities including railcar fleet strategy, capacity optimization, subleasing, storage, and railway partnerships; drive commercial/operational rail service planning with freight, storage, and sublease negotiations; own fleet sizing, utilization optimization, and the annual rail transportation budget to ensure cost-effective, reliable service; develop and execute a 10-year rail strategy aligning capacity across commodity value chains; provide input to rail egress projects and growth opportunities; anticipate rail constraints and propose solutions; collaborate cross-functionally to unlock value and improve performance; ensure compliance with SOX, customs, and regulatory requirements; represent Pembina in industry forums and support a safe, inclusive workplace; Pembina offers Flexible Work Standards permitting remote work on Fridays.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (certificate, diploma, or degree) in business, supply chain, marketing, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive rail industry experience
- 3+ years of oil and gas experience
- Proven ability to shape and execute strategic business plans
- Strong financial acumen and budgeting experience
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and data synthesis
