Senior Rail Corridor Planning Officer

Job Summary
Establish and implement a strategic plan for the collection, management, and reporting of all Rail Corridor Access & Control performance data. Develop and improve management reports, including KPIs, performance meetings, risks, issues, and financial reports. Collaborate with outreach and stakeholder relations functions to ensure alignment of activities and initiatives. Liaise with internal departments regarding operational issues, providing subject matter expertise to the management team on as required. Create a culture of continuous improvement to ensure high-quality service standards and timely delivery are achieved. Monitor progress to ensure planning objectives are delivered on time and within budget, explaining off-plan overages and exceptions. Recommend process, standards, or policy changes to advance excellence in corporate project management practices. Provide technical advice, assist with data interpretation, and offer insight for decision-making to internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
- Minimum four (4) years' experience in a Data Analyst or similar role
- Background in technology, information management, relational database design and development, business intelligence, data mining or statistics
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with strict attention to detail and accuracy
- Critical-thinking skills to identify trends in data and provide insight into results and outline recommendations
- Interpersonal and relationship management skills to liaise with stakeholders and business units to identify/manage data/information requirements
- Verbal and written communication skills to prepare reports, update, and brief management; provide information and explanations of a technical nature to a range of internal stakeholders
- Ability to learn new software and tools in an efficient manner
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
