Job Summary
Translate analytical, developability, and mechanistic insights into innovative formulation and drug delivery platforms for injectable biologics, including mAbs, ADCs, and emerging modalities. Apply protein stability, aggregation, and interfacial behavior principles to guide formulation design for complex biologics. Design, execute, and interpret advanced characterization and stability studies to guide development decisions. Develop and apply in vitro and ex vivo performance models to evaluate novel injectable formulation and delivery concepts. Partner with cross-functional R&D teams to integrate analytical, formulation, process, and delivery perspectives into differentiated biologic drug product strategies. This role bridges early-stage discovery and clinical translation within Lonza's global life sciences team in Bend, Oregon.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, biophysics, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or a related discipline
- 3–5 years of relevant industry experience
- Strong understanding of biologic developability, including protein stability, aggregation, degradation, interfacial behavior, and formulation–biologic interactions
- DMPK and basic pharmacology
- Hands-on experience designing and interpreting formulation screening, stress, and stability studies for biologic drug products
- Expertise applying analytical characterization methods to connect molecular attributes with formulation performance and development decisions
- Working knowledge of injectable drug product development and sterile processing fundamentals
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional R&D teams
