Job Summary
Lead end-to-end mechanical product development from feasibility through validation, certification, and supplier coordination. Drive design-for-manufacturability and pilot-builds to deliver scalable, cost-effective production-ready designs. Develop accurate material and component specifications aligned with quality standards while translating product goals into technical requirements and prioritized engineering plans. Validate designs through testing, prototyping, performance evaluations, and third-party compliance. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, sourcing, and product management to ensure launch readiness and own engineering deliverables through the gated sustaining process. Lead design reviews, FMEA's, and risk mitigation to ensure robust outcomes. Engage with end users to identify needs and feed validated ideas into the NPI and sustaining pipeline.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, supplier quality, and product engineering
- Strong understanding of manufacturing standards, mechanical assemblies, and engineering drawings
- Hands-on expertise in metals, polymers, and composites, including forming, machining, and injection molding
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, self-directed environments
- Proficient in SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor
- Experienced in 3D modeling, assemblies, technical drawings, and PDM/PLM systems
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
- Skilled in supplier coordination and engineering collaboration
- Excellent communication skills
