Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders across Defence infrastructure projects. Administer contracts in accordance with project objectives, providing accurate cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to ensure budgets are met. Proactively manage cost variance, contract cash flow, and change orders while driving improvements in forecast accuracy. Collaborate on programme performance, value engineering, and commission management to deliver complex projects within governance frameworks. Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed upon while adhering to SOX controls where applicable. This role requires UK MoD Security Clearance and experience in NEC3 contract management. You will work 60% of the time on client sites or offices, balancing hybrid working with business demands.

Required Qualifications

  • Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering
  • Experience of working in the Infrastructure (Rail, air, power, highways) sector
  • Experience in Contract Management (NEC3)
  • Experience in Change management
  • Experience in Cost Management
  • Experience in Procurement
  • Experience in Estimating
  • Experience in Governance processing
  • Experience in Collaborative approaches
  • Experience in Line management
  • Experience in Commission management
  • Excellent and flexible skills in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, Work, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience of working in a client-facing environment
  • Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level
  • Experience in early stage estimating in complex / major Defence Infrastructure programmes
  • Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software packages
  • 60% of your time on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices
  • Must be a SOLE UK National
  • Must be able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC)
  • Must adhere to SOX control responsibilities

Desired Qualifications

  • Already holding SC Clearance
  • Contract Management (NEC3 preferred)
  • Experience in teams/ Office & Site attendance
