Job Summary
Conduct inspections of parts and assemblies against drawing and process requirements across all sites, including manual checks using micrometres and height gauges. Operate CMM machines, manage probe programs and software updates, and resolve errors or collisions. Raise non-conformance forms, approve rework, and spot-check operator compliance with Master Methods. Generate and maintain FAIR reports, create inspection methods for non-standard items, and lead audits for internal or supplier processes. Provide coaching to new inspectors and lead improvement projects while collaborating with engineering teams to optimize quality procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Apprenticeship level or equivalent in an engineering discipline
- Quality inspection within a manufacturing/engineering industry
- FAIR generation and collation
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T/engineering drawings
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
- Performance driven and self-motivated
- Strong planning and prioritising activities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to present data effectively
- Analytical skills
- Team player
Desired Qualifications
- Internal Auditor AS/EN9100 trained
- CMM operation/programming
- Experience of using root cause analysis tools (8Ds, 5 Whys etc)
