Job Summary
Perform hands-on inspections of electro-mechanical assemblies using established quality inspection methodologies and tools. Interpret MIL, IPC, and ANSI specifications, as well as technical drawings, to accurately identify and assess non-conformances. Document, log, and track inspection records while ensuring traceability and compliance with company standards. Conduct physical inspections of hardware and review deliverable documentation in alignment with technical data packages, processes, and contractual requirements. Verify tasks and inspections are completed following company standards, industry regulations, and government agency requirements. Support return-to-vendor activities, ensuring defective materials are appropriately addressed. This onsite role in Goleta, CA, requires an active Secret security clearance and eight years of relevant experience. Required Qualifications
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Secret - Current Security Clearance Status: Active and existing security clearance required on day 1
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training)
- Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience
- In lieu of a degree, candidates must be a high school graduate and have ten (10) years of experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in hardware handling and inspection
- Experienced using quality control and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related equipment
- Experience working with aerospace, defense, or manufacturing standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, MIL-STD, IPC, J-STD)
- Experience documenting and maintaining accurate inspection records for traceability
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contractual flow-down requirements
- Experience performing quality inspections in accordance with GD&T drawings, quality notes, inspection plans, and contractual requirements using appropriate tools (e.g., microscopes, calipers, gauges, micrometers)
- Experience using computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience working independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in the manufacturing and production of electronic and mechanical assemblies (including electro-mechanical components)
- Hands-on experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems
- Experience using PRISM (SAP) or other ERP software systems
- Working experience applying industry technical quality standards, such as MIL-STD-105, J-STD-001, and IPC-A-610
- Certifications in J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 are preferred
- Background in electro-mechanical manufacturing and quality assurance practices
- Experience performing various types of quality inspections, including vendor, receiving, first article, and in-process inspections
- Certification in quality inspection or related fields (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or NDT Level certifications)
