Senior Quality Inspector

Job Summary

Conduct visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections of equipment manufactured at Powell facilities, including service panels, HVAC, and battery chargers. Program and operate electronic equipment such as microprocessor-based relays, perform failure investigations, and execute root cause analysis. Complete and maintain Quality Control documentation while interacting with shop, engineering, and shipping departments to resolve non-conformities and implement corrective actions. Record discrepancies and material shortages using Powell systems and participate in continuous improvement projects. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standard work instructions within a temperature-controlled industrial environment requiring PPE and ladder work up to 30 feet. Maintain clean work areas and apply industry standards to ensure ISO compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma, or a Trade School diploma or certificate
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read prints including specification sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, three-line drawings, wiring lists and part drawings
  • Must be proficient in the English language, both written and verbal
  • Must be able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders) and scaffolding
  • Working at heights usually no higher than 30 feet in the air or using proper lift equipment
  • Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs
  • Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously
  • Continuous standing, walking 50–300-foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting
  • Must be able to climb stairs frequently throughout the shift
  • Able to frequently look over shoulders, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently
  • Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs
  • Ability to use hand tools such as tin snips, hammer, and power tools (some vibrating), for long periods of time with frequent repetition
  • Must be able to work effectively within a team and around other departments and their activities
  • Ability to learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure adherence to ISO requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality inspection for electrical or electronic equipment or components preferred
  • Intermediate experience working with industry codes and standards and able to refer to applicable codes
  • Learn and understand basic electrical principals and relevant Mechanical experience
