Job Summary
Conduct visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections of equipment manufactured at Powell facilities, including service panels, HVAC, and battery chargers. Program and operate electronic equipment such as microprocessor-based relays, perform failure investigations, and execute root cause analysis. Complete and maintain Quality Control documentation while interacting with shop, engineering, and shipping departments to resolve non-conformities and implement corrective actions. Record discrepancies and material shortages using Powell systems and participate in continuous improvement projects. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standard work instructions within a temperature-controlled industrial environment requiring PPE and ladder work up to 30 feet. Maintain clean work areas and apply industry standards to ensure ISO compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma, or a Trade School diploma or certificate
- Minimum 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing environment
- Ability to read prints including specification sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, three-line drawings, wiring lists and part drawings
- Must be proficient in the English language, both written and verbal
- Must be able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders) and scaffolding
- Working at heights usually no higher than 30 feet in the air or using proper lift equipment
- Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs
- Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously
- Continuous standing, walking 50–300-foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting
- Must be able to climb stairs frequently throughout the shift
- Able to frequently look over shoulders, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently
- Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs
- Ability to use hand tools such as tin snips, hammer, and power tools (some vibrating), for long periods of time with frequent repetition
- Must be able to work effectively within a team and around other departments and their activities
- Ability to learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure adherence to ISO requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Quality inspection for electrical or electronic equipment or components preferred
- Intermediate experience working with industry codes and standards and able to refer to applicable codes
- Learn and understand basic electrical principals and relevant Mechanical experience
