Job Summary

Plan, develop, and administer quality assurance/control systems, including ISO-9001 programs and corporate customer feedback systems. Conduct capability studies of plant and supplier manufacturing processes using metrology and statistical methods to diagnose improper quality control practices. Audit internal quality systems, review requests for proposals, and act as a QA representative on project teams and during third-party audits. Develop new testing techniques, fixtures, and gauges while establishing performance metrics and measurement methods at facilities. Utilize physical, mechanical, and electrical testing procedures to evaluate products and interpret engineering specifications. Assist engineers and plant personnel in reducing nonconformities through Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Action tools. Manage supplier risk assessments, conduct source inspections, and train personnel in inspection techniques. Maintain the Customer Feedback database and follow up with Engineering, plants, suppliers, and Marketing to verify responses. Implement Lean techniques for continuous improvement and attend technical meetings or courses as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in technical curriculum
  • Bachelor's degree earned from a university in the United States
  • Minimum five years of hands-on experience in a quality assurance environment and/or a manufacturing environment
  • emphasis on measurement, testing, documentation, and ISO 9001 exposure
  • Ability to use a computer and applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be capable of operating general metrology inspection and test equipment
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Must be able to travel
  • Must be available to work outside of normal working hours on infrequent occasions

Desired Qualifications

  • Quality Engineering Degree
  • ASQ Quality Engineering Certification
  • Experience with MiniTab or other statistical analysis software package
  • Interpersonal and communicating skills
  • Capable of report formatting and technical writing
  • Be familiar with and implement Lean techniques for continuous improvement
  • Attend technical meetings, conferences, and specialized courses consistent with your area of responsibility
  • Train personnel as needed in inspection, testing, and other techniques
