Job Summary
Develop qualitative instruments and protocols for standardized core research initiatives, including interview guides and focus group modules. Plan and execute pilot and cognitive testing with small participant groups to validate study design before clearance. Certify site interviewers through scored mock interviews and co-facilitate sessions on trauma-informed techniques and secure data handling. Conduct ongoing fidelity quality assurance by reviewing session audio samples and providing feedback to trigger refresher training. Support codebook development, define application rules, and maintain inter-rater reliability processes. Deliver biannual methodological trainings to health department staff and contribute artifacts to the replication toolkit. Requires Master's degree, seven+ years of experience, and customer clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property
- Demonstrated experience developing qualitative instruments and conducting pilot and cognitive testing
- Experience training and certifying interviewers, including trauma-informed and stigma-aware interviewing techniques for hard-to-reach populations
- Strong knowledge of qualitative coding and codebook development
- Master's degree
- Minimum of seven or more (7+) years' of relevant experience
